Softball is in Kelly Cullen’s blood.
As part of a family of softball players, Cullen has loved the game of softball since she made the switch from little league baseball.
It was a passion that not only led to opportunities playing at the recreational, travel, and high school levels, but at the Division I college level as well as she earned a walk-on spot at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore.
But then, after her freshman year in college, she walked away from the sport citing disillusionment.
The hiatus from the game allowed her to find that lost spark for softball that led to a return to the competitive aspect of the game.
In this episode, Cullen talks with host Earl Holland about her softball journey, in addition to what led to her decision to play Division I softball.
Kelly also shares why she pursued criminal justice as a major in college, a big lifestyle change, and why, as a softball player, she has a minimal interest in watching baseball.

Greg Bozman's basketball journey began as a young boy playing in the backyard with his older brother and ultimately led to him playing at the highest level of college basketball – Division I.
But during Bozman's time playing college ball, what we now know as 'stretch-four,' a big man that could shoot from long range with deadly accuracy, wasn't even in its embryonic phase, let alone its infancy; relegating the 6-foot-8-inch Crisfield, Maryland native to a traditional post player.
This dissatisfaction, along with other events, led to Bozman playing at two Division I programs, before returning home to Somerset County Maryland.
But even after coming home, his passion for the game still burned as it eventually led to him coaching at the high school level while maintaining a rigorous daily shooting routine.
In this episode, Bozman shares his passion for basketball with host Earl Holland in addition to discussing what led to his arrivals and departures from two Division I programs, the lessons he learned from those experiences, and how he found his way into the coaching ranks.
Bozman also talks about the player he ever faced, what's it like being the athletic director of two schools at the same time in one county, and more.
