For the Love of the Game with Kelly Cullen
Softball is in Kelly Cullen’s blood.
As part of a family of softball players, Cullen has loved the game of softball since she made the switch from little league baseball.
It was a passion that not only led to opportunities playing at the recreational, travel, and high school levels, but at the Division I college level as well as she earned a walk-on spot at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore.
But then, after her freshman year in college, she walked away from the sport citing disillusionment.
The hiatus from the game allowed her to find that lost spark for softball that led to a return to the competitive aspect of the game.
In this episode, Cullen talks with host Earl Holland about her softball journey, in addition to what led to her decision to play Division I softball.
Kelly also shares why she pursued criminal justice as a major in college, a big lifestyle change, and why, as a softball player, she has a minimal interest in watching baseball.
