Faith and Fastballs with Hunter Parsons

Hunter Parsons’ journey to a professional baseball career comprises of three factors: his family, his faith, and a fastball that clocks in at more than 95 miles per hour.

It was his family that inspired him to follow his dreams of playing in the pros.

It was the very same high-velocity fastball that led to him being selected twice in the MLB Amateur Draft in 2014 and 2018.

And his faith helped him overcome tough times playing baseball at the University of Maryland, ultimately leading to a rebound.

In this episode, Parsons discusses his path to the pros, including making the transition from pitching at a private school to the public school and getting on the radar of professional scouts and college coaches.

Hunter, who pitched at the University of Maryland, will also discuss the culture shock of playing in New York as well as his expectations for his first full professional season.

Parsons will also give his advice to anyone looking to pursue a career as a professional athlete.
